Read more »Fashion designer, Anne Mpinga made her runway debut at the Hub of Africa Fashion week in December 2o11, with her Kipusa line. Kipusa is Swahili for beautiful young lady and as the name suggests, her clothes are designed to accentuate the natural beauty of women. Using a combination of African prints, lace, natural cotton, and chiffon she accents and embraces women’s curves. Anne uses colorful African prints to create funky modern wear and reinvent typical casual wear. Her designs can be classified as modern-African chic.

Read more »Young designer Jamilla Vera Swai interest for fashion began at the age of 7. She always watched her Aunt sketch and sew. When she was in high school she did a little modeling along with designing for the agency she was signed with. Within the years due to her petit size, she no longer did modeling. She decide to focus on designing full time and that is exactly what she did. Jamilla showcased at several of places. This year at The Hub Of Africa, she got to showcase her great collection.

Born into an artistic and innovated family, Debora started to nurture and perfect her craft at an early age. Last week, Debora had the opportunity to showcase her artistry at the Hub of Africa Fashion Week that received positive responses from the audience.

Origin Africa – Ethiopia 2012 goal is promoting Africa as a sourcing destination and also Change the whole mindset of doing business in Africa. Africa happens to lack sufficient infrastructure which is highly needed for making any business profitable. Investors are working hard to expand textile exports and plans to achieve US$ 1 billon. Ethiopia’s Earnings from textile exporting have already been growing over the pass few months. Read more »Premiering her latest designs at Hub of Africa’s fashion week, the Duaba Serwa label by Nelly Aboagye is the talk of town. Nelly Aboagye was originally inspired by the arts and crafts teachings of her mother. After graduating from the University of Ghana, Nelly Aboagye began her line Duaba Serwa. Nelly was inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier, even adopting his motto “La mode se de’ mode” meaning “Fashion goes out of Fashion”.
Nelly’s latest collection plays on many different styles: including, bold colors, African prints, and crisp tailoring.
