Adirée delivers a fashionable wish to the Children’s Wish Foundation

NEW YORK, NY – June 2011- When a representative from the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada reached out to Adirée PR with the opportunity to grant a wish to a child with a life-threatening illness we jumped at the chance.  The child was Claire Davis, a nineteen-year-old student studying architecture at the University of Manitoba.   Claire was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at a very early age.  Her wish is to attend Africa Fashion Week New York produced by Adirée which will take place July 11^th-17^th at the Broad Street Ballroom in New York City’s financial district, and to attend a fashion show.

Claire is constantly in and out of the hospital taking medication and undergoing various treatments so that she can live as close to a normal life as possible.  Her interest in fashion started when she was younger and continued to blossom into her high school years where she aided in designing and creating her own dress for her high school graduation.

“I believe that Claire’s story hits home. And I believe that it’s essential to support our children every way we possibly can. According to a study done by Dr. Peter Catzel and Dr Shwachman, one in 3,000 births in South Africa are diagnosed with CF, In Canada, approximately, one in every 4,000 thousand children are diagnose with CF, says Adiat Disu, Director of Africa Fashion Week in NY.”
